The new launch of the next generation Porsche 911 is just around the corner. Labled as the 998 or 997 II, there seems to be drastic improvements in performance, speed, design and interior convenience. While no major changes in design have taken place, the 2012 Porsch 911 is following the normal progression of having small subtle changes that takes the new generation Porsche 911 to add some modern adjustments.
The first thing I noticed from the leak in pictures and videos was the change in design of the outside. The increase in size of the nose and a wider rear end produces a very attractive sexy new look to the new generation. With improved aerodynamic and aesthetically pleasing body style the car just looks more modern with a longer body length and better looking rear wing and back end. With accenting newly designed side mirrors positioned on the side of the doors instead of being placed on the windows and a lifted up headlights, 2012 Porsche 911 keeps the classic design with a very modern face lift!
Featuring an upgrade with a lightweight carbon fiber components, sleeker aerodynamic design, an adjustable rear and front spoilers, and dynamic air intakes, there is definitely a jump in performance that allows reaction to the flow of air. With these improvements, Porsche has made strides to beef up its engine, decrease the overall weight of the vehicle and even improved fuel efficiency. From the source that we can see, 2012 Porsche there seems to be slimmer weight decrease of 99 pounds taking it to 3020 lbs. The engine at the mid-level engine trims has a most powerful 3.8 L 415 hp engine with a 6 speed manual or 7 speed PDK. With the improvements in fuel economy, Porsche is to be rated at an astounding 26 MPG an improvement of about 14%!
Inspired by the much more luxurious look of the Panamera interior, the 2012 Porsche 911 will be going through a major change in cabin design adding some much needed improvements. With upgrades such as standard start/stop button standard, improved cabin design, and a cooler center console (almost looks like a thinner Panamera console). There is a more refined look that delivers a level of comfort and luxury to the sporty 2012 Porsche 911.
