Shown in Frankfurt, Germany, there are many cars that will NEVER make it to the US. The Frankfurt show is full of futuristic cars with all sorts of new amenities and ideas that many US billionaires would pay to have, but some are not legal and others simply don’t measure up. Let’s take a look.

1. Citroen DS3
The Citroen DS3 is about the same size as the mini, but it is only sold in Europe. Created by the French manufacturer Citroen, this car has a different spirit, and some say it’s more comfortable.

2. Ford C-Max
Who would’ve thought that a Ford, an American made car, wouldn’t make it to the US, but as it turns out, this is happening. It is considered a sensible MPV segment, and it has long wheelbase 7 seat option. Go figure.
It has a new high efficiency, low carbon dioxide option, and maybe it’s because this whole option is a little too expensive for the average American, at least when we think about Fords.

3. Renault Zoe
One of 4 electric cars shown in Frankfurt, it’s a cute name and a small car, certainly an interesting looking car. It is considered a supermini with the lifting butterfly doors and a 70 kw motor. However, it can be matched we think by the Nissan Leaf, which is sold in the US.

4. Volkswagon Sciroccco R
Seen as racing vehicle (like a lot of Volkswagons actually), this is turbocharged at 261 horsepower. It offers better mileage than a V6, go figure, and it is a good alternative to the Audi TT, if only you could get it in the US.

5. Jaguar XJD
This is not your usual Jaguar blueprint, it’s big, it’s fancy, and it looked great in the show. This is technically scheduled to arrive in the US in December, but who really knows. The thing you don’t get is the Diesel version of this, which as more horsepower, obviously better fuel economy, etc.

6. MINI One Diesel
Again, for some reason we just don’t like the Diesel. Diesel doesn’t necessarily equal better mileage, and truth be told, the oil companies drive up diesel prices, even though ironically, diesel costs less to make.

7. Kia-Venga
This particular Kia has been restricted to Europe and South Korea. This ultracompact car could compete with the Soul and Rio, and it has C-segment interior space on a B segment footprint with an installed sliding rear seat. Maybe it will make it one day, but for now, it remains outside of the United States.

8. Weismann MF5
A roadster, this car is a German brand you just can’t get. It is meticulous and state of the art, and it has a 5 liter V10 engine, something we, at best, rarely see. This translates to 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 195mph, which exceeds the legal limit in the United States. However, on the Autoban, you can go as fast as you want.

9. Peugeot RCZ
It’s like an Audi TT, but in Europe. This particular car is a little bit smaller than the TT, but it’s fashionable. What can we say, the socialite loves the fashionable.

10. Porsche 911
We’re not so sure about the name, it’s a little insensitive for the US, but what do you do. This has Fuschs alloy wheels, a ducktail spoiler, and a double bubble roof for your crash helmet if you want to race. With a lovely interior to match that you should expect from a Porsche, it’s too bad this one won’t make it here to us.
